Uninstall Blacklisted Software


Reminder: This policy only applies to applications installed with an MSI package.


As a plugin to Automate we are dependent on the Automate mechanisms.


Once a piece of software has been blacklisted two things have to happen. The Software inventory has to be updated then an Update Config has to be issued.


In your Control Center, on the left pane click Automation then Schedules.

This screen will open.

Doubleclick the desired computer type, in this case Desktops, and this screen will open showing the scheduler configuration for desktops.

You can see in the example screenshot, if an application is blacklisted after 9AM, say 9:05AM, the Software Inventory won't run until 6PM and the required Update Config won't run until 9AM the next day. The result would be, at a minimum, a 24 hour time lapse between the time the application was blacklisted and the time it is removed / uninstalled.
